Uhuru Garden is one of the leisure gardens in Nairobi (Uhuru is a Kiswahili word for freedom and hence the place is meant for relaxing and fun as we enjoy our freedom since independence in 1963). It's adjacent to Carnivore Simba saloon club in Nairobi Kenya (one place with all the good meat of all kind and grilled as you watch). It's along Langata road next to Nairobi National Park. It's a beautiful place for anyone to go for picnic and relate.
My memorable Saturday at the Uhuru Garden was full of all the excitement you can imagine! This is a day that everyone would like to relax at home with family, visiting or join friends for drinks and fun. Eve Africa and her pals decided to spend the Saturday at Uhuru Gardens drinking, eating and riding the horses.
Vau....Camel...I'd like to ride this vehicle:)
I woke up at 10oclock, had send my cab driver to go pick for me a car at my uncles place to use over the weekend. I received the car at 11am, after shower I went to the petrol station to fuel the car then drove to riverside estate one of the upper-class estates in Nairobi to pick up Naomi my pal, then preceded to town to pick Lois also my pal working with I&M bank. The three of us headed to Langata where I stopped to pick food and some materials for the picnic at Uhuru Gardens.
Cristine is assessing the drink...
Before reaching to Langata we went to Uchumi supermarket to buy some drinks and cups. Thereafter we drove to Langata. After preparing everything for the picnic we went to pick another pal of ours called Christine at her place still in Langata. As soon as we reached her place the car got stuck!!! What an experience? You wont believe it, there was no fuel:). Oh my God this car is a fuel gazelle, we were all in shock, 5 ladies (Makena, Naomi, Lois, Maggy, Christine and Eve Africa). No man amidst us, so what next. Next start making phone calls for rescue. Lucky enough, Makenas official driver came to our rescue and went buy us fuel.
After adding fuel we drove to kenchic fast food in Langata bought chicken and fries then headed to Uhuru Garden.
Fuel got finished and we stuck with the car. Poooooooooor gals...
Naomi refused with all the drinks, she is very mean:)
We spread on the grass kikois, duvet and pouf for those who would like to sleep or sit down, especially lazy ones. Ideal place for Lazy Peter:) We started by eating the junk foodthat we had bought then drinking. We drank up to 8pm, others went to horse riding, and driving and lazybones remained at the site sleeping around.
Alcohol had taken it due course and the gals started reminiscing of how each of us dance when we are on the dance floor. Eve Africa is doing all the demos...

Makena is asking God to bless our drinks..
We left for home at 8pm because there was darkness all over the garden we can't even see the drinks and our pals. Remember also being any animal can bring itself there and decide to feast on our flesh.
God, it was memorable Saturday. Try taking your girlfriend or boyfriend for expedition at Uhuru Gardens on Langata road.
BYE BYE, EVE AFRICA
